Director of Asset Investment & Fire Remediation

In this newly created function, the Director of Asset Investment and Fire Remediation will play a critical role in leading the strategic investment and enhancement of built assets across a large and diverse property portfolio, including oversight and delivery of fire safety remediation projects in occupied residential properties. This position combines oversight of comprehensive asset investment functions and fire safety remedial works, ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, sustainable, and efficiently managed. Additionally, the role will focus on securing external funding, seeking redress for latent defects and achieving key performance metrics for asset investment, driving initiatives aligned with our long-term financial plan and carbon reduction goals. Working with the existing pipeline, you’ll identify and secure regeneration and strategic land and investment opportunities to deliver a balanced development pipeline, in line with our development strategy. You’ll ensure that the homes and communities we’re planning meet our requirements around specification, quality and place-making. 

Could it be you?

To be a success in this role, you:

  • Hold a construction-based qualification, equivalent to degree level, ideally relevant to fire remediation and project management.
  • Have significant experience managing large, complex construction projects and asset/capital project services at a senior level, ideally with experience managing a substantial residential property portfolio that includes high-risk buildings and/or those over 11m in height.
  • Proven experience in delivering fire safety and asset investment while ensuring compliance with regulations, best practices, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong ability to analyse complex technical information and present it clearly to a variety of stakeholders, including nontechnical colleagues, residents, and contractors.
  • A successful track record in managing budgets, securing external funding, and overseeing supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrated personal resilience and experience leading teams through challenging and high-pressure environments, with a focus on delivering results under scrutiny and ambiguity.
  • Knowledge of carbon reduction strategies and sustainable practices in property management (highly desirable)
