Housing Support Worker

Your typical day could involve delivering high-quality support to individuals within a Complex Needs hostel or providing assertive Outreach support to those who are traditionally hard to engage. You might assist customers in accessing treatment, health, and accommodation services, or help them make informed decisions to better manage their emotional and personal wellbeing.

As a Housing Support Worker, you’ll be making a real difference in the lives of rough sleepers and ex-rough sleepers with complex needs. You will provide practical and emotional support, advocate for your customers, and work closely with partner agencies to promote their independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.

You’ll enjoy building positive relationships with your customers, colleagues, and external agencies. Your role will involve supporting individuals to access treatment, care, and accommodation services, as well as providing them with information on their rights, welfare benefits, and housing options.

To be a success in this role, you’re:

• Able to work 37.5 hours a week, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends on a rota system.
• Confident, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, with a non-judgmental approach.
• Experienced in working with adults with complex needs, especially those who have been hard to engage.
• Skilled in conducting risk and needs assessments.
• Knowledgeable about housing options, Welfare Benefits, and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
• A full UK driving licence holder with access to a car for business purposes.

The service operates Monday to Sunday and the possible shifts are: 7am - 3pm, 9am - 5pm, 1pm - 9pm and 2pm - 10pm. This role also involves street outreach and will include early shifts starting at 7am and late shifts finishing at 10pm.
